A Profile of the Artist
I'm a native Texan, born and raised in Houston. I have also lived in Sedona, Arizona and New Orleans, Louisiana. Most of my adult life I lived in Austin, Texas which has a thriving art community. I currently reside in the Texas Big Country.
I live with a colony of cats in a rural area.
In my spare time I watch a lot of sci-fi, horror, fantasy, paranormal shows, and documentaries. I've always had an interest in the fantastical, especially the supernatural. This fascination shows in my work. I've been an avid reader of these genres during my life. My dreams are often vivid and weird. Sometimes I paint an entire painting in my dream, only to awaken and the painting is but a fading memory. I have a lot of time to myself, living rurally as I do, and my mind often wanders through my imagination. Painting has given me an outlet to express the daydreams and fantasies of my subconscious. Often my paintings express what is impossible for me to express verbally.
Creating artwork is my full-time profession. More than that, it is my vocation.
